AZ-DOR PAYMENT PLANS TO RESOLVE BACK TAXES

Arizona Department of Revenue will typically allow 24-month Payment Agreements for individuals to satisfy their tax liabilities.

Businesses can expect to be held to 12-month Payment Agreements, although you may be allowed 24 months depending on a few things, such as –
  • Your company’s compliance history
  • The type of tax owed, and
  • Your company financials
You will likely have to complete detailed financial statement forms.
  • Personal Collection Information Statement, and/or
  • Business Collection Information Statement
You may also have the option to enroll and pay your AZ-DOR taxes online HERE.

**AZ-DOR will not allow more than 2 previous Payment Agreements, so don't default your Agreement once you get it.

Offer in Compromise – Arizona Department of Revenue does have an Offer in Compromise program available to settle your tax liability for a lesser amount.  If you lack equity in assets, such as your home, and lack the ability to make monthly payments, you may qualify for the AZ-DOR OIC.  Like the IRS, the evaluation process is very in-depth. To get started you will need to complete our Arizona Offer in Compromise Form.

In most cases, we do not recommend the Offer in Compromise for operating businesses.

Penalty Relief – Arizona may consider your request for penalty relief, depending on the reason you provide for the accrual of the tax liability.  AZ-DOR has a lengthy list of reasons that are considered allowed hardships for penalty relief.  Get the form HERE.
